What Is Breast Implant Projection?
I’d like to learn more about breast implant profile types. Can you explain what breast implant projection means and what profiles exist?
Breast Implant Projection
Breast implant projection means how far the breast implant extends forward in front of your chest.
Breast implants are available in different types of profiles such as low profile, medium profile, moderate plus profile and high profile.
The higher the profile of your breast implant, the more it extends forward from your chest.
The Base Of Your Breast Implant
High profile breast implants have a narrow base in comparison to lower profile breast implants.
The higher the profile, the more narrow the base of the breast implant is so it can extend further forward from your chest.
Choosing The Right Breast Implant Profile
Dr. Brooks’ goal is to make your breasts look natural with a beautiful shape, and that means we need to pick a profile that suits the look you’re going for.
During your consultation, Dr. Brooks will measure the width of your breast to figure out how wide the implant can be, then he will match the width of the implant to the width of your breast.
Next, Dr. Brooks will choose an implant with the profile you need to get the volume you want. So that might be a low profile, a moderate profile, a moderate plus profile or a high profile implant.
High profile implants are generally best for people with narrow chests but want a fairly significant size, and they are really great at getting you a large size if you’re small. The trouble is that they are not quite as natural as the moderate profile implant. The problem with moderate profile implants is that they are wide with less projection.
The good news is, breast implant companies have come out with something in between called a moderate plus profile implant which is halfway between moderate and halfway between high. Moderate plus is a very popular profile.
