Your Initial Consultation
At the time of your initial consultation you will meet with Dr. Brooks to discuss your breast augmentation goals in detail. The surgical steps of your breast implant procedure will be explained, your implant options will be presented, and all of your questions will be answered.
Breast Implant Options
Silicone breast implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes, they can also have a textured or smooth shell. Your breast implant size, shape and position will be determined by Dr. Brooks based on your desired look and existing measurements.
Every patient has a unique shape with specific surgical requirements, your breast augmentation surgery will be tailored to meet your unique needs.
Breast Implant Incision & Placement
A hidden inframammary incision can be made in the crease beneath your breast or a peri-areolar incision can be made around the dark skin of your nipple. The implants will be placed above or partially below your chest muscle. Dr. Brooks will determine the placement of your breast implants based on your existing measurements, implant type, and aesthetic goals.
Anesthesia
General anesthesia is used so you will be extremely comfortable and asleep during your procedure.
Length of Surgery & Recovery Time
Breast augmentation surgery takes about 1 to 2 hours to perform.
Once you are awake, and our recovery team has cleared you to go, your arranged ride can drive you home. Your chest may feel tight and sore for the first 1 to 2 weeks, your pain medication will help alleviate any discomfort. Plan to take about 5 to 7 days off work for rest and recovery.
You will see the results of your breast implant surgery immediately. Post surgical swelling will take a few weeks to resolve and your incision lines will continue to fade over time.
