Ear Surgery in Medicine Hat, Alberta And Saskatchewan
Ear surgery is performed to correct the size, position and shape of your ears. Prominent ears can be smoothed back to balance the position of your ears with the structure of your face. Large earlobe piercings, including flesh tunnels can be closed and repaired. Overly large ears can be reduced in size.
Your Initial Consultation
At the time of your initial consultation you will meet with Dr. Brooks to discuss your ear surgery goals in detail. The surgical steps of your otoplasty will be explained and all of your questions will be answered.
Incisions for Ear Surgery
Hidden incisions can be made in the natural contours and folds inside the rim. Prominent ear incisions are generally placed on the back surface of the ear.
General anesthesia is used so you will be extremely comfortable and asleep during your procedure.
Length of Surgery & Recovery Time
Ear surgery takes about 1 to 2 hours to perform. Once our recovery team has cleared you to go, your arranged ride can drive you home.
Plan to take anywhere from 1 to 10 days off work. More downtime is required for prominent ear surgery, less downtime is required for earlobe correction.
